About Me

It's November 2016, and it's been a very wet Fall in the Pacific Northwest.  Very wet even for those of us who love the rain!  What better way to grab some vitamin D than to head for Santa Barbara, California.  1,200 miles from Seattle...better fly.  Save some money and fly into LAX, rent a car, and take the 101 North!

About Me

Chelan Ridge HawkWatch Site - 24-25 Sep 2016.   For 10 weeks every year, members of HawkWatch International count and band rapters during the Fall migration at this site and many others.  At over a mile high (1,730 meters), Chelan Ridge in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is a magical place with very dark night skies and incredible day views...and raptors - - hawks, falcons and eagles floating along the ridge or soaring above in the skies.  For more information, visit hawkwatch.org or ncascades.org
